Cambodia
Julie Broyles became the on-site manager of the English Bible Study Center in Phnom Penh, Cambodia in August 2008. The Center was formerly a ministry of Partners in Progress which included three major ministries operated by Partners in Progress in Cambodia. The school was reopened under the name Bible English School &Training (BEST) Center in July 2010 under sponsorship of the Granbury Church of Christ in Granbury, Texas. Julie Broyles remained as the on-site manager of the school.
Management of the B.E.S.T. Center means management of the compound where the ministry is based. The compound includes both classrooms for teaching Cambodian students and housing for teachers. The English classes using Bible-based materials are taught by volunteer Christians from the United States and Canada. Julie coordinates the schedules of both teachers and students. The program is a primary outreach to Cambodian University students and professionals who have a great interest in learning more about our religion and improving their English. A local congregation, University Church of Christ, also uses the compound to conduct worship services.
Before moving to Cambodia, Julie was a member of the Granbury Church of Christ and a second grade teacher at Acton Elementary.
Since 2008, we have been blessed to have volunteer teachers travel to Cambodia and spend a month at the Bible English Study & Training (B.E.S.T.) Center using the Bible and Bible-based material to teach English.
