Project Shine
Project Shine is what we call our collection of hygiene items and books for children in the North Little Rock school district.
A special “parent store” has been created within the schools where parents in need can obtain hygiene items for their children free of charge. When the choice has to be made of whether to buy food or to buy toothpaste the food always wins. Many children lack the basic items most of us take for granted. Poor hygiene leads to low self-esteem which can also affect their social and academic development.
We also furnish children’s books for parents to check-out and have access to at their home. Many of these families do not have books to read to their children at home so there is no opportunity to reinforce learning outside of the classroom. Travel back and forth to a local library is many times prohibitive.
We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to “shine” in school and social or economic barriers can inhibit their potential. Through Project Shine we can help chip away at the barriers these children face.

If you would like to donate to Project Shine you may deliver your items to the church office or place them in collection boxes located in the front lobby.

- Tooth pastes
- Bath Soaps
- Shampoos
- Deodorants
- 1 gallon Zip-Loc Bags
- Children’s books (all reading levels, used or new)
